AIRC Courses
AIRC offers a wide range of training in a range of animal related careers - from one day workshops to Diploma qualifications.
One and two day interactive workshops are available for those employed in veterinary nursing areas.
Introductory courses available for people wishing to enter the veterinary nursing, pet care and grooming industries.
Cert I in Animal Studies is intended for individuals who have not yet gained employment in a veterinary nursing or animal/wildlife care field.
Cert II, Cert IV and Diploma courses are available to people already working in veterinary nursing.
CTVN Veterinary Nurse Technician and CTVN Veterinary Nurse Manager are interactive professional development pathways for Veterinary Nurses.
People employed at a pet shop, grooming parlour, boarding kennel, cattery or any other animal care facility may study Cert III in Companion Animal Services or Cert IV in Companion Animal Services.
Overview
Introductory Veterinary Nursing
A part-time, prevocational course which is especially designed for people preparing to enter the Veterinary Nursing industry. This course requires no industry employment.

Certificate I in Animal Studies
This accredited course is an ideal course for those looking to break into the animal care or veterinary industry without the prerequisite of employment. Accredited nationally recognised study with full and part-time study options.

Certificate II in Animal Studies
A structured tutoring program for nurses working a minimum of 15 hours in the veterinary field. This Certificate is aimed at nurses new to the profession or those with minimal experience and no previous qualifications.

Certificate II in Animal Studies (Veterinary Reception)
A structured tutoring program for veterinary receptionists working a minimum of 15 hours at a practice. This Certificate is aimed at people new to the profession or those with minimal experience and no previous qualifications.

Certificate III in Companion Animal Services
A structured tutoring program for pet retailers, groomers and animal attendant employees or volunteers working 5 hours or more a week. Students can specialise in areas such as retail operations, retail management or pet grooming.

Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services
A structured tutoring program for industry managers,
supervisors, senior staff members and those working
within the dog training and behaviour industry.

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
A structured tutoring program for individuals who have completed the Certificate II in Animal Studies course or have been assessed to this level by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in recognition of their years of work experience. Under the Animal Care & Management Training Package this course now includes additional subjects such as preliminary practice management, supervisory skills and personal development techniques.

A structured tutoring program that develops professional capabilities in a broad range
of advanced technical and managerial disciplines for Veterinary Nurses. Practical, hands on, and dedicated to the practice environment.

Diploma of Veterinary Nursing
(Surgical, Emergency & Critical Care, Dentistry)
The Diploma of Veterinary Nursing is aimed at experienced veterinary nurses who have gained their Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Diploma studies allow the veterinary nurse to specialise their current skills in various fields of study. Nurses must work in a veterinary specialist or Emergency and Critical Care facility.

The A.S.S.E.S.S. Prior Learning & Experience Program means applicants who have the experience, but lack formal training, or who have previous qualifications along with significant experience, can often gain or upgrade qualifications without completing formal training programs.
