AIRC offers a wide range of training in a range of animal related careers - from one day workshops to Diploma qualifications.

One and two day interactive workshops are available for those employed in veterinary nursing areas.

Introductory courses available for people wishing to enter the veterinary nursing, pet care and grooming industries.

Cert I in Animal Studies is intended for individuals who have not yet gained employment in a veterinary nursing or animal/wildlife care field.

Cert II, Cert IV and Diploma courses are available to people already working in veterinary nursing.

CTVN Veterinary Nurse Technician and CTVN Veterinary Nurse Manager are interactive professional development pathways for Veterinary Nurses.

People employed at a pet shop, grooming parlour, boarding kennel, cattery or any other animal care facility may study Cert III in Companion Animal Services or Cert IV in Companion Animal Services.

 

Nationally Recognised TrainingCertificate I in Animal Studies (Distance Ed)    

Level 1 Animal Carer/Veterinary Nurse/Wildlife Care

This is a nationally recognised and accredited course intended for individuals who have not yet gained employment in a veterinary nursing or animal care field. This certificate is also recommended for those who are volunteering in an animal care facility, senior school students or those wanting to get a head start in this popular and rewarding industry.  Core subjects include preparing for animal care work and maintaining the animal care workplace.  Students have the opportunity of 'specialising' after 4 core units by completing specific animal care, wildlife rescue or veterinary nursing subjects from Certificate II in Animal Studies in the nationally recognised Animal Care and Management Training Package.

This comprehensive course supports the student in gaining fundamental knowledge to assist them in entering their industry of choice. The Certificate I course fees includes learning materials as well as comprehensive information on resume writing, sourcing animal care employment and preparing for the interview scenario.

Nationally Recognised TrainingCertificate I in Animal Studies (In Practice)

Level 1 Veterinary Nurse

Why not study accredited training AND gain relevant veterinary nursing training at the same time? This full-time course combines theoretical study and veterinary practice placement. This Austudy approved course is currently available to students in the Brisbane and Melbourne area and is the perfect way to kick-start your veterinary nursing career and fast-track into Certificate II in Animal Studies.

This comprehensive course supports the student in gaining fundamental knowledge to assist them in entering their industry of choice.  The fees includes learning materials as well as practical hands-on training in an actual veterinary hospital, workplace insurance cover, comprehensive information on resume writing, sourcing animal care employment and preparing for the interview scenario.

It is intended for individuals who have not yet gained employment in a veterinary nursing or animal care field.
