AIRC Courses

AIRC offers a wide range of training in a range of animal related careers - from one day workshops to Diploma qualifications.

One and two day interactive workshops are available for those employed in veterinary nursing areas.

Introductory courses available for people wishing to enter the veterinary nursing, pet care and grooming industries.

Cert I in Animal Studies is intended for individuals who have not yet gained employment in a veterinary nursing or animal/wildlife care field.

Cert II, Cert IV and Diploma courses are available to people already working in veterinary nursing.

CTVN Veterinary Nurse Technician and CTVN Veterinary Nurse Manager are interactive professional development pathways for Veterinary Nurses.

People employed at a pet shop, grooming parlour, boarding kennel, cattery or any other animal care facility may study Cert III in Companion Animal Services or Cert IV in Companion Animal Services.

 

Diploma of Veterinary Nursing

The Diploma of Veterinary Nursing is an intensive, technically structured training program which allows qualified veterinary nurses the chance to specialise their skills in a choice of areas. Veterinary nurses can specialise in surgical nursing, dental nursing or emergency and critical care nursing. Due to the intensive technical nature of each Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, all applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) and be working with a veterinary surgical or dental specialist or in an Emergency and Critical Care facility.
