The course will give you a comprehensive introduction to basic in-house veterinary pathology procedure. On-going assessment ensures you understand as you go and a Certificate of Achievement can be printed upon satisfactory completion of final exam.

Topics covered include: use of the microscope and refractometer; understanding blood collection and storage; PCV and TPP; making blood smears; recognising normal and abnormal red blood cells; recognising white blood cells; performing differential white cell counts; understanding common biochemical and electrolyte tests; and biopsies, skin, urine and faecal tests.

Interactive Pathology is an online course designed specifically for those wishing to gain exceptional pathology knowledge, understanding of performing tests and interpretation of results. Held over a six week period, this course includes course notes 4 x weekly one-hour live online training sessions by world-class lecturers and interactive case discussion and activities. Topics range from blood collection, PCV/TPP, biochemistry tests, urinalysis through to blood smear preparation and interpretation, and much more.

Duration and Delivery: 6 weeks commencing Wednesday, 17 February 2010. Webinars commence on Tuesday 23 February at 7pm (AEST) followed by five Wednesday evening sessions, completing on Wednesday 31 March 2010.

Inducting New Employees is a course to guide employers through both the technical and cultural aspects of induction programs. Topics include creating induction plans, adult learning principles, designing training plans, coaching and performance issues in the induction phase.

Managing and Developing Performance looks at the structures you can put in place to build an effective performance management system.
You will examine informal techniques such as Reward and Recognition, Coaching, Counselling and Disciplinary Action. Formal performance management techniques discussed include Performance Appraisals, Key Performance Objectives and Development Planning.
